Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially announced that Tales of Eternia Remastered will launch on October 16, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
It marks the long‑awaited revival of one of the most beloved early entries in the Tales series and one of the franchise’s defining 2D adventures.
Standard and Deluxe Editions on the Way
Alongside the standard release, a Deluxe Edition will be available, featuring:

- A digital soundtrack
- A Battle BGM Pack
- A set of progression‑boosting items

A Journey Across Two Worlds
In Tales of Eternia Remastered, players follow Reid Hershel, Farah, Keele and the mysterious Meredy on a quest to stop the Grand Fall, a catastrophic collision between the worlds of Inferia and Celestia.
The story explores cultural conflict, friendship and destiny as the group searches for the power of the Great Craymel while confronting their own internal struggles.
A Classic With a Complicated Western History
Originally released on PlayStation in Japan in 2000, Tales of Eternia reached North America in 2001.
Europe, however, received the game much later on PSP, and that version never made it to North America.
The game is also remembered for a unique localization twist:
When it launched in the United States, it was renamed Tales of Destiny II because Mattel owned the Eternia trademark from Masters of the Universe.
This caused years of confusion, since the real Tales of Destiny 2 was never released in the West.
