The latest preview centers on a showdown with Kong Kong Zi, the Cantrip Master, a boss who uses illusion based techniques inspired by traditional Chinese magic arts. The fight highlights the game’s fast paced mix of offense, defense and counterplay, giving a taste of the rhythm players can expect throughout the adventure.
Spiritual Companions Step Into the Spotlight
One of the trailer’s biggest reveals is the Spiritual Companion System, a mechanic that lets players summon entities from the spirit realm to fight alongside them. These companions can absorb damage, support the protagonist and even join in on coordinated attacks. The video also introduces the Ox, a horned specter from the underworld and the first companion available in the story. As the official sequel to the Gujian series, Swords of Legends draws heavily from classical Chinese mythology and literature. Players take on the role of a Sipan, an Arbiter of the Underworld who returns to the mortal world to track down lost souls unable to continue their passage after death.
