RuneScape Dragonwilds Takes Flight With Full Launch This September

Jagex used Summer Game Fest 2026 to confirm that RuneScape Dragonwilds is leaving early access and officially launching on September 15, 2026. The full release arrives simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, marking the survival spin off’s long awaited console debut.

A Breakout Hit in Early Access

Since landing on Steam Early Access, Dragonwilds has surpassed one million copies sold, quickly becoming one of 2026’s standout survival titles. Version 1.0 bundles together the Umbral Sands expansion and the brand new Scorned Wilderness update, giving players a massive amount of content right out of the gate.

A New Frontier in Gielinor

Set in Ashenfall, an unexplored region of Gielinor, Dragonwilds sends players into a cooperative survival adventure built around exploration, crafting and magic. You can journey alone or team up with up to four players as you uncover the origins of a volatile magical force spreading across the continent.

Classic RuneScape DNA Meets Modern Survival

Dragonwilds blends familiar RuneScape elements with contemporary survival mechanics. Players can:

  • Develop skills and craft equipment
  • Build structures and fortify bases
  • Gather resources using spells
  • Face escalating threats across the wilderness

The deeper you venture, the more dangerous the world becomes.

Dragons Rule the Wilds

As the title suggests, dragons are central to the story and its toughest challenges. Players must forge stronger gear, brew powerful potions and sharpen their abilities to take on legendary beasts and ultimately confront the Dragon Queen, the apex threat of Ashenfall.

Built With Community Feedback

Executive producer Jesse America emphasized that early access feedback heavily shaped development. Jagex plans to continue expanding Dragonwilds even after the 1.0 launch, ensuring the world keeps evolving long after release.

Launching September 15 Across All Platforms

RuneScape Dragonwilds arrives September 15 on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, bringing a fully realized survival adventure to both PC and console players.
