Fans of Kagurabachi finally have their first real look at the anime’s protagonist. A newly released teaser showcases the official design for Chihiro Rokuhira, along with a short character presentation video that highlights the intensity and mystique that made him one of the most talked‑about shonen leads in recent years.
The full series is still slated for an April 2027 premiere, but this reveal marks a major milestone for the adaptation.
Who Is Chihiro Rokuhira
For newcomers, the official character description sets the tone for the story’s brutal beginning:
A silent boy embarks on a journey to avenge his father, killed by the Hishaku, and to recover the six stolen Enchanted Blades. With the seventh and final Enchanted Blade in his possession, he travels a bloody path.
The presentation video captures Chihiro’s piercing gaze and calm menace, accompanied by one of his defining lines:
“I cannot allow vermin like you to wield a katana.”
According to the press release, this line embodies his unwavering conviction and the weight of the battles ahead. Dressed in a stark black coat and accompanied by a black goldfish, Chihiro’s presence is described as quiet yet overwhelming, hinting at the storm he carries within.
A High‑Caliber Team Behind the Adaptation
The anime is produced by Cypic, part of the CyberAgent group, known for Umamusume: Cinderella Gray and The Summer Hikaru Died.
Direction is led by Tetsuya Takeuchi, whose action animation work on Sword Art Online II and combat sequences in Heavenly Delusion earned widespread praise.
Character designs come from Keigo Sasaki, known for Blue Exorcist and The Seven Deadly Sins.
Chihiro is voiced by Taihi Kimura, winner of the 2025 Seiyu Awards’ Best New Actor, whose recent roles include Liar Game and Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe.
