Bandai Namco has confirmed that Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026. This enhanced release bundles the award winning base game with the massive Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and a collection of new features crafted specifically for the hybrid console’s debut era.
A Dark Fantasy Epic Reforged for a New Platform
Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and built in collaboration with George RR Martin, Elden Ring transports players to the Middle Lands, a sprawling world of corrupted gods, ancient ruins and brutal encounters. The Tarnished Edition brings that full experience to Switch 2, complete with two new starting classes, fresh armor sets and expanded customization options for Torrent, the spectral steed that carries players across the realm.
Shadow of the Erdtree Expands the Myth
Shadow of the Erdtree takes players into the Shadow Realm, a new region filled with deadly enemies, towering bosses, unique weapons and powerful abilities. The expansion follows Miquella’s path and uncovers darker truths about the Elden Ring universe, deepening the lore that captivated millions since launch.
Content Also Coming to Other Platforms
While the Tarnished Edition is tailored for Switch 2, its additional content will also be available separately for PlayStation, Xbox and PC players via Steam, ensuring the entire community can access the new material.
A Modern Classic Reaches New Players
Since its original 2022 release, Elden Ring has become one of the most celebrated games in history, earning more than 400 Game of the Year awards and surpassing 30 million copies sold. Its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 opens the gates for a new wave of adventurers ready to brave the dangers of the In Between and chase the title of Pristine Lord.
