Developer Funcom has confirmed that Dune Awakening will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, 2026. This release brings together all updates, systems and refinements added to the PC version over the past year, along with new features arriving simultaneously across all platforms. The studio describes this as the most complete version of the survival experience on Arrakis.
A Unified Release Packed With Features
The console editions deliver the same content available on PC, with optimized controls and an interface tailored for gamepads. Performance Mode targets 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Players can experience the entire game solo thanks to a dedicated single-player mode with adjustable difficulty and extensive customization options. The launch also includes the full conclusion of Book One, allowing players to follow the cinematic story from beginning to end. Difficulty modifiers let players tune everything from resource gathering to combat intensity, giving full control in single-player and private servers.
New Content Continues Beyond September
Funcom is already preparing additional updates after launch. A new survival map, the Polar Ice Cap, inspired by the Hagga Basin at the pole of Arrakis, will arrive later this year as a free update. The map introduces fresh survival challenges and new content designed to expand the world even further.
Xbox Game Pass and Cross-Platform Support
Dune Awakening will join Xbox Game Pass on September 22. The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere, enabling cross-play between Xbox and Microsoft Store players and allowing progress to carry over between both platforms. It will also be playable on ROG Ally and through Xbox Cloud Gaming, extending access across more devices.
Broad Compatibility for PC Players
Beyond consoles, the game remains compatible with Steam Deck and is available through GeForce Now, giving players multiple ways to explore Arrakis wherever they prefer to play.
