Nintendo and Monolith Soft have confirmed that the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy is getting enhanced editions throughout 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2.
All three titles will receive major technical upgrades, exclusive new content and optional upgrade paths for returning players.
4K Resolution and 60 FPS Across All Three Games
Each enhanced edition of Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will feature:
- Up to 4K resolution and 60 FPS in TV mode
- 1080p and 60 FPS in handheld mode
- Enhanced cutscene resolution and smoother performance
It is the sharpest and most fluid the trilogy has ever looked.
Exclusive New Content for Each Game
Nintendo confirmed that every title will include exclusive features created specifically for the Switch 2 editions.
Highlights teased in the announcement include:
- A high‑speed vehicle in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
- Blade‑controlled mercenary squad battles in Xenoblade Chronicles 2
- A wave‑based challenge mode in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Upgrade Packs for Existing Owners
Players who already own the original Switch versions will not need to repurchase the full games.
Nintendo will offer upgrade packs that unlock the Switch 2 enhancements, making the transition smooth and affordable.
