Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have rolled out SnowRunner for Nintendo Switch 2, and the game is already live on the eShop for €39.99.
Better yet, anyone who owned the digital version on the original Switch gets the upgrade completely free, making this one of the smoothest transitions to the new hardware so far.
A Six‑Year Journey Reaches Its Latest Stop
Originally released in April 2020, SnowRunner has steadily expanded across platforms:
PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2020, Switch in 2021, PS5 and Xbox Series in 2022.
Now, the Switch 2 edition marks the newest chapter in a game that has already gathered over 20 million players worldwide.
Extreme Terrain, Massive Maps and Over 100 Vehicles
For newcomers, SnowRunner is all about conquering the impossible.
Players take control of heavy off‑road machines and push through:
- Mud
- Snow
- Ice
- Flooded terrain
Across 50 plus maps and 100 plus vehicles, bolstered by six years of Season Pass content.
The game supports solo play or co‑op for up to four players, letting teams tackle the harshest routes together.
Crossplay Is Coming, but Not Just Yet
One of the biggest complaints about the original Switch version was the lack of crossplay.
The Switch 2 edition fixes that, but the feature will arrive with Season 18, scheduled for June 30, 2026.
Once it lands, players will be able to connect with friends on:
- Steam
- Epic Games Store
- PlayStation
- Xbox
A long‑awaited upgrade for the SnowRunner community.
A Strong Start for the Switch 2 Version
With a free upgrade path, a massive content library and crossplay on the way, SnowRunner’s arrival on Switch 2 gives the game a fresh boost.
For veterans, it is the best version yet on Nintendo hardware.
For newcomers, it is the perfect time to jump in and get stuck in the mud.
