Team17 and The Game Kitchen have released The Third Sin, a free update for Blasphemous II now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
This expansion opens the gates to a colossal new area steeped in Gothic dread and twisted history.
A Castle Quarter the Size of the Entire Game
The Third Sin takes place inside a huge, shadow‑drenched castle, roughly a quarter the size of the combined maps of Blasphemous II and Mea Culpa.
Once a refuge for Cvstodia’s nobility, the fortress now lies devastated by The Miracle.
Players will navigate:
- Winding corridors
- Labyrinthine towers
- A cavernous library
- Damp crypts filled with forgotten horrors
It is one of the most ambitious environments ever added to the series.
New Familiars Join the Penitent One
For the first time, the Penitent One can be accompanied by three Familiars, magical entities that support both combat and exploration.
These companions introduce a fresh layer of strategy and traversal, giving players new ways to approach Cvstodia’s dangers.
A Bladed Whip Expands the Arsenal
The update adds a brand new weapon: a bladed whip.
This tool enhances the Penitent One’s moveset with new normal and special attacks, offering faster, more flexible combat options against the castle’s corrupted inhabitants.
More Secrets, More Lore, More Sin
The Third Sin also includes:
- New prayers
- Unlockable lore entries
- Five new trophies or achievements
- Six new tracks by composer Carlos Viola, deepening the castle’s unsettling atmosphere
It is a dense, lore‑rich expansion that rewards exploration and mastery.
A Free Update With Monumental Ambition
The Third Sin is not just an add‑on. It is a full‑scale expansion that pushes Blasphemous II into darker, more intricate territory while giving players new tools to survive its trials.
