NCSoft used Summer Game Fest 2026 to officially announce that AION 2 will launch in September 2026 for PC via Steam and on the PURPLE platform. The reveal came alongside a new trailer and the confirmation of hands on demos during SGF Play Days.
Private Demos Highlight Core Systems
Between June 6 and 8, select press and creators will get early access to a playable build. The demo focuses on the game’s signature features, including:
- Aerial combat and full free flight
- Open world PvP battles
- Class system and advanced customization
- Fast paced combat across land and sky
NCSoft is positioning free flight not just as traversal but as a core combat mechanic, giving players full vertical mobility in the skies of Atreia.
Combat Built Around Total Freedom of Flight
One of AION 2’s biggest strengths is its complete freedom of flight, allowing players to fight, dodge and reposition in three dimensional space. Precision, timing and aerial awareness become essential as players combine spells, abilities and target selection while soaring above the battlefield.
PvE Content for Every Playstyle
AION 2 launches with a wide range of PvE activities, including:
- Solo dungeons
- Four player cooperative dungeons
- Eight player raids
Teamwork and mastery of mechanics will be crucial for tackling the toughest encounters.
A Global Rollout After Regional Success
Originally released in South Korea and Taiwan in November 2025, AION 2 earned strong critical and commercial reception. The global launch expands the game to servers in North America, South America, Europe and Asia, with support for 10 languages, including Brazilian Portuguese.
